Psalm 91 captured my attention yesterday while out getting a little fresh air and moving my body a bit after all the baking here lately, and those that saw my last Facebook or Instagram post know just what I'm referring too! Many times on my walks, I include some one-on-one time with my Jesus, so while out yesterday, I also enjoyed taking in some Truth (God's word) while listening to a favorite podcast. The podcast I was listening to was sharing from Psalm 91, and let me say, there are some excellent, encouraging Words in this Psalm! Part of where I was intrigued is where the psalmist reminds us in Psalm 91:14 "Because He loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name."
As I pondered over this Psalm, it brought to my mind a recent morning I spent capturing a few photos of the horses while an early morning covering of fog/mist had crept in after a rainy night. This one particular photo stuck out in my mind while processing Psalm 91, and several thoughts still lingering about the current situation in our nation we are all facing at this time.
Much like this photo, we wake, and it feels like we are looking into the "unknown." It appears as if, like the image, to be a fog/mist clouding our view. As some struggle with the unknown or maybe simply unsure or confused, may we all be reminded of the promises the LORD offers for every soul that "acknowledges and loves Him."
Let us that know and seek a personal relationship with Jesus posture ourselves just like this horse, showing no fear in the eyes (although the view is hazy), ears forward and eager to listen and trust the LORD with His promises in the "mist" of Covid19 (and silence other noise). The horse is still, calm and waits with patience without worry, all while confined to his space.
Therefore, in summary, just as the light in the horse's eye shines, even when there seems to be no sun, let us keep shining the eternity changing light of Christ, also when we may wonder if the SON is near. To my fellow believers, remember to shine His redeeming light given to you, share His hope and love to all that are currently in their walk of finding The Way to the reassurance of Jesus.
Christ is still on the throne, He is still LORD of lords and KING of kings, and yes, His saving grace is continuing to save and change lives!
Blessings,
